Bandit kingpins surrender arms, release 16 kidnapped persons in Katsina




Some notorious terrorist kingpins in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State voluntarily surrendered their arms and released 16 kidnapped persons following an ongoing arms surrender and disengagement initiative.

The suspects identified as Kamulu Buzaru, Manore, Nagwaggo, Lalbi, Alhaji Sani, Dogo Baidu, Dogo Nahalle and Abdulkadir Black handed over their weapons to the authorities on June 14, 2025, and pledged to renounce banditry in exchange for peace.

The group also released 16 captives, comprising seven women and nine children, and promised to release all remaining victims by June 15, 2025. The freed hostages have been handed over to the appropriate local government officials for further care and rehabilitation. (Zagazola)
