RAF fighter jets
Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday confirmed that RAF fighter jets have been deployed to the Middle East to offer “contingency support across the region.”
He said the British aircraft are positioned near the area where Israel and Iran have been exchanging missile fire, according to UK media.
Speaking to reporters while traveling to the G7 summit in Canada, Starmer said he could not disclose additional details about London’s role.
“These are obviously operational decisions and the situation is ongoing and developing and therefore I’m not going to get into the precise details,” Starmer said.
“But we are moving assets, we’ve already been moving assets to the region, including jets, and that is for contingency support across the region. So that is happening,” he added. (Anadolu Agency: Text, Excluding Headline)
