Coco Gauff has complained it should be illegal to go out after winning a sporting event. The American clinched the second Grand Slam of her career on Saturday as she overcame Aryna Sabalenka in the French Open final.
The showpiece match in Paris proved to be a thriller, with Sabalenka winning the opening set on a tiebreak. But Gauff hit back to take the second set 6-2, before winning the decider 6-4. The victory came three years after Gauff was defeated by Iga Swiatek in the French Open final and almost two years after she won her first Major at the 2023 US Open.
Gauff was in a celebratory mood after her victory over Sabalenka as she posted a video of herself to TikTok.
But she jokingly appeared despondent as she captioned the video: “Going out after winning a sporting event should be illegal.

Gauff returned to the social media platform as she headed back to the USA on Monday following her endeavours in Paris.
And she revealed that she was unable to take the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen trophy back home with her due to the fact it “stays with the tournament.”
The 21-year-old displayed the “mini replica” she had been given instead, with the prize barely bigger than a small bottle of water she had placed next to it on her flight. And she added: “It’s the memories that matter the most.”
Gauff will be eyeing up more Grand Slam titles in the coming years, with her US Open success also coming against Sabalenka. And after the Roland Garros final, she explained: “I think this win was harder than the first [title] because you don't want to get satisfied with just that one.”
She added: “I was going through a lot of things when I lost here three years ago. I'm just glad to be back here. I was going through a lot of dark thoughts.”
Meanwhile, Sabalenka explained: “It was honestly the worst tennis I've played in I don't know how many months. Conditions were terrible, and she simply was better in these conditions than me. I think I was overemotional and I didn't really handle myself well.
“I think she won the match not because she played incredible, just because I made all of those mistakes from - if you look from the outside - easy balls.” (EXPRESS)
