Erol Musk, father to Elon Musk
Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, told Russian media in Moscow that the recent feud between his son and US President Donald Trump stemmed from stress on both sides, and that Elon made a mistake by publicly challenging the president.
The clash began last week when Musk criticised Trump’s sweeping tax and spending bill on social media, calling it a “disgusting abomination,” sparking an exchange of insults between the two.
“They have been under a lot of stress for five months — give them a break,” Errol Musk said in an interview with Izvestia during his visit to the Russian capital. “They are very tired and stressed, so you can expect something like this.”
Errol expressed confidence that Trump would ultimately prevail, saying, “He’s the president, he was elected as the president. Elon made a mistake, I think. But he is tired, he is stressed.”
He downplayed the dispute, suggesting it was “just a small thing” that would “be over tomorrow.”
Neither the White House nor Elon Musk could be reached for comment outside normal US business hours.
Trump declared on Saturday that his relationship with Musk was over and warned of “serious consequences” if Musk funded Democrats running against Republicans who supported the tax and spending bill.
Musk, the world’s richest man, had funded a significant portion of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Trump appointed Musk to lead a controversial initiative aimed at reducing the federal workforce and cutting spending. (AriseNews TV)
