A 23-year old tailor, Faith Adeola, has stabbed his ?street brother,? Gbenga Olotu, to death over theft of a stabiliser.

The incident occurred at Ikese community, Oka-Akoko, Akoko North West area of Ondo State.

Witnesses said Adeola and Olotu were friends who regarded themselves as ?street brothers.?

An argument was said to have ensued between them over theft of a stabiliser.

The witnesses said the deceased had attempted to stab Adeola and his wife with a knife, but Adeola wrestled the knife from him, and stabbed him on the chest.

Olotu was rushed to the General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Adeola was arrested and charged to court on one count of murder.

According to the charge, ? Faith Adeola ?m,? on May 10, 2025, at about 2:30, at Ikese community, Oka-Akoko, in the Ondo State Magisterial District, did unlawfully stab one Olotu Gbenga ?m? a.k.a. ?Zagazar,? with a knife on his chest and also hit him with wood on his body which resulted to his death.?

Plea of the defendant was not taken.

Prosecuting counsel, Folasade Adeyemi, prayed the court to remand the defendant at the correctional centre, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. R.I. Adelakin, adjourned the case to May 29th, 2025, for further hearing.
