Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugu-Ukwu, in the evening of 17th May 2025, foiled a kidnapping attempt and recovered a victim's vehicle at Isuaniocha.
A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that the gang of five, operating in a black coloured Toyota Corolla, double-crossed the victim at Amatu village, Agulu, and abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV before the Police were alerted.
According to him, "The operatives in a technology-driven manhunt on the criminals, made them to abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha, and fled. The victim has been debriefed and in safe custody.
"To this end, the Operatives are currently working on the necessary information available to dislodge the kidnapping gang and have stepped up security surveillance in the area for possible arrest of the suspects and to nip in the bud any untoward situation."
