The female graduating students of the Class of 2025 at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) have swept all the academic excellence awards across all departments and Schools.
During the graduation awards ceremony, which is part of the university 16th Commencement on Friday night, 41 awards were presented at the event and 35 were clinched by the female graduands.
A female graduand at the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences, Habiba Amani Abdullahi, emerged the overall best graduating student of the Class of 2025.
Ms. Abdullahi also received other awards, which include best graduating student of Natural and Environmental Sciences, overall best graduating student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and a cooperate awards for excellence by Jaiz Bank.
Before now, Ms. Abdullahi is said to have been listed on the President?s of AUN academic recognition accolade for five conservative semesters.
Another female student, Pheobe Phillips, clinched the best graduating student of the department of Communications & Multimedia Design. She also bagged a distinguished award for leadership, Best Female Athletics award, and the cooperate academic award for excellence.
For the department of Economics, another female graduand, Mandi Baba-Bikoi, emerged the best, while Yolanda Amos clinched that of Software Engineering, and also emerges the overall best in the School of IT and Computing, in addition to Provost Award, and Leadway Cooperate award for excellence.
Other female best graduating students who received awards were Nafisah Ibrahim from School of Law, Joy
Bano from department of Public Law, Ummulkorsum Abdulhamid from Public International Law.
Also, for Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, another Female student, Maryam Hamadjoda took the award for best in department and School, and other awards as well.
Others who received awards of academic excellence include Habeebah Farouq from the Department of Information Systems, Label Jacobs, ICT, and the overall best for Graduate Studies.
Meanwhile, only two male graduating students were mentioned for academic Aliyu Ahmed in Engineering and Fortune Gabriel in Computer Science and two other for Graduate Studies while the others git award for leadership.
Speaking, the AUN President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, described the outstanding students as the brightest on the continent.
He said: ?This evening also marks the culmination of years of hard work and dedication for many of these graduates, for demonstrating not only the academic but the pursuit of growth in the pursuit of knowledge.?
Frazier pointed out that the students of his university are entrepreneurs, which is a part of the vision of their founder, and that as they graduate, they are going to be employers of labour.
?A number of businesses have been worked on others, that we can tell you, our students have a solid foundation to build their future careers and they would make a positive impact in their Community.
While congratulating the graduands, the President urged them to overcome challenges and race for opportunities as well as expand their horizons.

We need your ideas, your perspective, and when you go out to the world deliver these core values that you learnt and take them with you everywhere you go.
