CP Orutugu, Anambra Commissioner of Police

One of the Joint Security Teams in Anambra State has resisted an attack by armed criminals at the Security checkpoint in Isuofia, Governor Chukwuma Soludo?s community, in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
The incident took place at a police post in the area.
According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Friday, two of the armed hoodlums were killed in the gun duel on Thursday evening while one of the security operatives was fatally wounded.
One of the security operational vehicles was also burnt by the hoodlums.
The statement partly reads: ?During the ensuing gun battle and due to the superior fire of the Joint security team, the criminals abandoned one of their operational vehicles, a Toyota Sienna and fled the scene."
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has condemned the act, saying that it as a test of Ndi Anambra's collective resolve to work with the security forces to dislodge and eliminate criminal elements in the state.
He assured that the Command will apprehend the perpetrators behind this unpatriotic act.
The PPRO further said that calm has returned to the area and security reinforced with more armed operatives currently combing nearby bushes for possible arrest the fleeing miscreants.
