By CHIEDU UCHE OKOYE
Mr. Eloka Michael Udeozor, a native of Obosi, Anambra State, who is one of the staff of the Anambra State Ministry of Economic Planning, is begging public-spirited individuals and the government to come to his aid in order for him to undergo kidney transplant.
A 2012 Economics graduate of Enugu State University Science and Technology (ESUT), he attended St. Charles Secondary School, Onitsha for his post-primary school education; and Christ The King Nursery/Primary School, Obosi for his primary school education.
The remarkably handsome Mr. Udeozor, who is a few years shy of forty years, has been diagnosed with kidney failure in July 2024, which makes living life an arduous task for him.
So, now, in order to stay alive, he visits these hospitals, viz New Hope Hospital, Onitsha and Federal Medical Centre, Abakaliki for periodic dialysis.
So far, members of his immediate family have expended huge sums of money in the procurement of treatments for him.
A father of two children, Udeozor was told by medical experts that what would sustain and lengthen his life is kidney transplant.
It is a medical procedure, the cost of which is put at N30 million. And he would undergo the kidney transplant at Zenith Hospital, Abuja.
The budding Udeozor, whose future stretches before him like an endless road, does not deserve death at this period in his life as he possesses the nous and knowledge with which he can contribute to our national development.
He is begging the Anambra state government and public-spirited individuals to come to his aid in order for him not to die, prematurely.
"I don't want to die now. I have dreams and visions regarding how to transform our society and make it a better place. And I don't want my children to lose their father.
"So I am begging the government and public-spirited individuals to come to my aid," he said amid tears.
