As part of activities to honour Russia’s fallen heroes who have in the past paid the ultimate price for the Federation especially during World War II, a national wreath laying ceremony took place recently at the Red Square, in Moscow, the nation’s capital, with Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, leading Nigeria’s delegation to the ceremony.
The event was In honour of Russian fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price for the Federation during World War II and to commemorate the 80th Victory Day of the Russian Federation.
The CDS was accompanied to the event by the Commander, Infantry Corp, Maj. Gen U. A. Yusuf and the Principal General Staff Officer to the Chief of Defence Staff, Brig. Gen. Obinna Azuikpe, all of whom participated in the wreath-laying ceremony.
The event whichh took place at about 0900 hrs (GMT+3, Russian time), was attended by over 40 delegates, including about 32 heads of government, with the Chief of Defence Staff and his entourage standing-in for Nigeria.
