President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Professor Nahzeem Oluwafemi Mimiko, mni, Jomulaja of Ondo Kingdom, on the occasion of his 65th birthday, lauding his outstanding contributions as a scholar, administrator, and nation-builder. The Professor of Political Science at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
In a congratulatory letter personally signed and dated May 8, 2025, President Tinubu praised Professor Mimiko’s distinguished career in academia and public service. “On this occasion of your 65th birthday, I extend my warmest congratulations and admiration for your exceptional journey as a scholar, leader, and nation-builder,” the President wrote. “Your remarkable academic career, half of which you have spent as a full professor, has had a profound impact on generations of Nigerian graduates. Your dedication to education and mentorship is truly commendable.”
President Tinubu specifically highlighted Professor Mimiko’s tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State (2010–2015), where he was widely praised for his prudent management of resources, commitment to student welfare, and emphasis on merit-based leadership. He also acknowledged Professor Mimiko’s academic accomplishments, including his participation in the prestigious Senior Executive Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), where he earned the highly respected “mni” title. Additional accolades include a Visiting Professorship at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and his ongoing role at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, all of which the President highlighted in his letter.
The President noted with pride Professor Mimiko’s contributions to community development, which earned him the revered traditional title of Jomulaja of Ondo Kingdom, conferred by His Imperial Majesty, the Osemawe of Ondo. Looking ahead, President Tinubu expressed confidence in Professor Mimiko’s continued relevance to national discourse. “As you enter this new chapter, I urge you to remain a vital voice in shaping our nation’s future. Your insights will be invaluable to the success of our Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to leverage education and innovation to build a brighter Nigeria,” he said.
President Tinubu concluded by wishing Professor Mimiko continued health, happiness, and divine blessings.
