Kebbi Amirul Hajj for 2025, Emir Samaila Muhammad Mera

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera, CON, has been appointed as the Amirul Hajj of Kebbi State for the 2025 Hajj operations.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, April 14, 2025.
According to the statement, the appointment was approved by the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, as part of preparations to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj exercise for pilgrims from the state.
The Governor also approved the constitution of the state’s 2025 Hajj delegation, comprising prominent personalities from across different sectors in the state.
Members of the delegation include:
Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Lolo and Hon. Abdullahi Danjumma, both members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly
Barr. Attahiru Maccido, Chief of Staff, Government House
Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, Commissioner for Basic & Secondary Education
Hajiya Halima Hassan, Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Development
Nasiru Jafaru Abdullahi (Kwakwaten Shanga), District Head of Shanga
Alhaji Haruna Ilyasu Bashar, District Head of Raha

The committee has been tasked with overseeing all Hajj-related activities and ensuring the smooth coordination of the pilgrimage.
They are also to liaise with the Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and airline operators to ensure that agreements are upheld and challenges addressed promptly.
Governor Idris, in making the appointments, expressed confidence in the ability of the delegation, noting that the inclusion of experienced and highly respected individuals reflects the administration’s commitment to a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for pilgrims from Kebbi State.
