Nigeria now has a new set of 14 Commissioners of Police after Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed D. Abubakar, yesterday ordered the redeployment of that number of senior officers to commands and formations.

The 14 newly redeployed CPs are: Lawal Tanko for Borno State, Ibrahim Ahmed, Zamfara state, Hilary Okpara, Bayelsa State, and Maigari Dikko, Ebonyi State.

Others are Adebayo Ajileye, Inspectorate ‘E’ Department; Tonye Ebitibituwa, Training ‘E’ Department; Adeola Adeniji, Border Patrol; Waheed Salau, Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos; Markus Danladi, Commandant of the Police College in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The rest are Hyacinth M. Dagala, Deputy Commandant, Police Academy, Kano; Lawal Shehu, Head of Administration at the Force Headquarters, Abuja; Ibrahim Adamu, Deputy Force Secretary; Abdul Danwawu; Armament; and Salisu F. Abdullahi, X Squad.

IGP Abubakar in a statement urged the new commissioners to step up the fight against all forms of criminality in Nigeria.
