In a move designed to buoy the economy, the Federal Government has dispatched five ministers to the United Kingdom (UK) to woo the country’s investors.

The delegation is led by the Minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah. Other ministers on the trip are Rotimi Amaechi (Transport), Chief Audu Ogbeh (Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry), Suleiman Adamu (Water Resources) Minister, and the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika.

The ministers will use the four-day trade and investment roadshow in London, which ends on July 15, 2016 to sell Nigeria’s economic potential to foreign investors.

The roadshow is organised by the UK Trade and Investment, in collaboration with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

According to the organisers, the investment roadshow will open with an event titled: “Nigeria Open for Business,” which will focus on the business opportuni­ties in Nigeria’s energy, agriculture, transport, solid minerals, information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and infrastruc­ture sectors to foreign investors.

The organisers explained that the road show will be used to create a platform for the Federal Government to “profile business opportunities to the UK audience, build relationships with international businesses, link into global value chains and establish links to development finance with the view to developing stronger commercial ties between Nigeria and UK.”
