The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has felicitated with the Christian Community as they celebrate Mothers Sunday and the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan fast.
Reacting to the state of safety and security in Anambra State, the CP in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, cited the recent cultural display of his community, Okpoama Kingdom of Brass Local Government, in the state as an indication that the state is safe for all visitors and tourists.
According to him, the event had on attendance notable dignitaries which include, highly revered Chiefs from Bayelsa and the Governor of Anambra State represented by his Deputy, Dr. Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
He noted that the event underscores the importance of fostering unity and cooperation among different cultures and communities and assuring the public that Anambra State is a safe and attractive destination for all visitors.
CP Orutugu said: “Anambra State has a rich cultural heritage, with numerous tourist attractions such as Agulu Lake, Ogbunike Cave, and Igbo Ukwu Museum, which showcase the state’s history, art, and natural beauty.
“The state is also home to several festivals and carnivals, including the Imo Awka, Afia Oru, New Yam and Ofala Festivals, which celebrate the state’s cultural diversity and traditions.”
