Two remanded in prison custody for assaulting FRSC official

Two motorists, Nwandu Onyeka and Okechukwu Jackson, were on Friday remanded in prison custody after being arraigned for allegedly assaulting an official of the Federal road Safety Corps (FRSC) while on duty in the Jibowu area of Lagos.

Messrs Onyeka and Jackson were docked before Mrs A.A. Famobiwo of Magistrate Court 3, Surulere, and slammed with a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and obstruction.

Both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties each but ended up being remanded in prison custody as they could not meet the bail conditions.

The case has been adjourned to July 18, 2016 for mention.
