Max Air
By GARBA MUHAMMAD, Kaduna
After a 90-day suspension of its domestic operations, Max Air is set to return to the skies following approval from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The airline will officially resume flights from midnight on March 17, 2025.
The decision comes after Max Air voluntarily halted its domestic services in response to a series of incidents. During the suspension, the NCAA conducted a thorough safety and economic audit to assess the airline’s operational capacity and compliance with aviation regulations.
According to the NCAA, the safety audit, carried out between February 26 and 28, 2025, involved a comprehensive review of Max Air’s organization, procedures, personnel, and aircraft. The audit results confirmed the airline’s ability to maintain safe flight operations, paving the way for its return.
The aviation authority has assured the public that it will continue to monitor Max Air through an enhanced surveillance program to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards.
“The NCAA remains committed to ensuring that all airlines adhere to the highest safety standards for the continued well-being of the aviation industry,” said Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA.
Passengers can now book flights with Max Air as the airline resumes full domestic operations.
