First Lady, Senator Remi Bola Ahmed Tinubu

As part of effort to enhance food production in Nigeria under the Women Agricultural Training and Support Programme (WASP), the First Lady Federal Republic of Nigeria senator Remi Bola Ahmed Tinubu has doled out cash worth millions of Naira to the beneficiaries who are mostly women farmers across the 13 Local government councils of Nasarawa state with a call on them to utilize the money in Agriculture in oder to uplift their families status.

At the Banquate Hall government House Lafia on Wednesday , wife of the Nasarawa state Governor who represented by the wife of the Nasarawa state deputy Governor Mrs Tosin Akabe opined that viewed from the economic reality of the country today the money disbursed was going to add value immensely to their homes as well as urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the opportunities given to them to invest in Agriculture for a better return in future.
According to her “ Nasarawa state is blessed with fertile land for farming activities. Go and engage yourselves on both dry and rainy season farming so as to increase food production for your homes, state and the country at large. We Nasarawa women and Nigeria most commend the first lady senator Remi Bola Tinubu for her gesture extended to us through the Agricultural Empowerment scheme.”
In her message to the beneficiaries, the Nasarawa state Head of Service Mrs Abigail Waya who expressed her profound gratitude for the initiative; stressing that women are good in farming activities in Nigeria, calling on them to embrace farming by utilizing the funds accordingly for the purpose it was meant for.
“You are all invited here today to be empowered. You women are good in farming in Nasarawa. Don’t misuse the funds. I am very happy as women are invited for the Agricultural programme. Let us give Kudos to our leaders Mr President Bola Tinubu, First Lady Remi and Governor Abdullahi Sule for the recognition accorded women through various empowerment programmes which has impacted positively on Nigeria women today.
