El-Rufai
Political observers have noted that the defection of the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) may have been hastened by the return of his arch political enemies to the APC.
Elrufai had had political battles with the likes Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, Shehu Sani and many others who then card carrying members of the APC. Hunkuyi, after due political fight with El-rufai left APC for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Shehu Sani left APC for People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
However, less than 24 hours after the former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District,Senator Shehu openly declared support for Governor Uba’s reelection bid, former governor Elrufai out of alleged fears of the unknown, officially dumped APC for SDP
Information gathered revealed that the return of Shehu Sani and other prominent politicians in the State such as Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi; Senator Danjuma Laah , Former Governor Ramalan Yero and others to APC recently actually unsettled Elrufai further stay in the party.
Shehu Sani had said his major political interest in 2027 is to see Governor Uba Sani reelected as Kaduna State governor.
Unwilling to face the heat, Elrufai in a Facebook Post on Monday formerly resigned from APC.
Meanwhile, in a reaction via telephone call, Shehu Sani said, “El-rufai leaving APC for SDP wouldn’t make any difference for someone with no political relevance again. But one thing is sure , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu And Governor Uba Sani will be voted again”. (Daily Sun)
