The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the state to make their phone numbers available to residents of the state.

This directive was issued by the CP during a closed-door meeting with the Area Commanders in the state following their security briefs on Friday.

CP Orutugu explained that the order is aimed at improving communication between the police and the public, noting that the permanent phone numbers would enable seamless communication and ensure that incidents are reported and responded to promptly.

He stressed that with the permanent phone numbers, Area Commands and DPOs would be able to coordinate their efforts more effectively, leading to better policing and improved safety.

The commissioner emphasized that the phone numbers would allow the public to easily reach the police, ensuring quick and efficient responses to incidents.

Speaking further, Orutugu expressed his commitment to sustain safety in Anambra State and also improve the overall effectiveness of the police force in the state.
