One word recurred yesterday as two of the three Igbo big girls whom playboy ex-Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode publicly boasted to have bedded voiced out their frustrations. Both Ambassador Bianca Onoh-Ojukwu and Chief (Honourable) Adaobi Kate Uchendu described Fani-Kayode’s claims as provocative but refrained from joining issues with him.
Bianca, Nigeria’s incumbent Ambassador to Spain, had initially ignored Femi but finally reacted after a Twitter comment attributed to her confirmed that the two used to have a romantic relationship during her days as a spinster but never had full sex.
Disassociating Bianca from the comment suspected to have emanated from a fake Twitter account inked to Femi, her aides said in a short statement: “She has chosen to remain silent over Kayode’s provocation and demeaning post about her and her people.” They urged the public to disregard the tweet as it did not come from the Ambassador or her spokesperson.
On her part, Adaobi Kate Uchendu, who wrote in her second Facebook response in as many days: “Thank u, all, for your numerous calls of support and encouragement. The key factor in leadership is “restraint in the face of provocation”. Some jobless Nigerians, who dont want peace in our country, have been calling me to come out and fight Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and all Yorubas publicly. But i have one thing to say – “that is not the way I fight”. Besides, I will not entertain you on Facebook by abusing people on the social media. As for those jobless opportunists, I will say this — if u feel u have the energy for another civil war, go and fight. But, count me out of it. This war of words did not start from me. And it will definetly not end by me. Once more, I am saying a big thank you to all my friends and political associates who stood by me.”
News Express reports that Fani-Kayode had in a Facebook article on Tuesday pubclisied his “intimate relationships” with Bianca, Adaobi and Miss Chioma Anasoh while trying to prove that he is not an Igbo hater as suggested by his on-going anti-Igbo campaign. Chioma is yet to be traced and has yet to utter a word on the issue.
