The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, on Tuesday revived the Cattle Menace Committee within the Command, saying that the goal is to promote safer and more harmonious relations.
He explained that the committee has been reinstated to address issues arising from cattle grazing, such as the destruction of crops, accidents, and conflicts between herders and local communities in the state.
According to the CP, the committee? is expected to mitigate the problems caused by stray cattle and herders in local communities.
The Commissioner made this decision after receiving the Hausa/Fulani community in the state during a courtesy visit to his office.
He further assured Ndi Anambra and residents that the Command, under his leadership, will continue to take proactive steps to address all security concerns in the state.
Orutugu added that reviving the committee will help promote a safer and more harmonious coexistence between the different communities in Anambra State.
