The family of the late leader of the Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has disclosed that their father would be buried on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
The late nationalist died at the age of 96 in his Lekki home on February 14, 2025.
In a statement to the media on Monday, signed by the nonagenarian?s three children: Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, Adeola Azeez and Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo noted that the day of tributes/ service of Songs would be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos at 1 pm.
The statement also revealed that the waking would be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Adebanjo?s country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun at 4 p.m.
According to the family, the Church service/final burial would take place on Saturday, May 3, 20,25 at St Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State at 10:00 am.
The family further stated that the thanksgiving service would be held on Sunday, May 4, 2,025 at St Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State at 10:00 am.
