ENUGU STATE POLICE commands Spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe

The Police Command in Enugu State has detained two suspects for alleged armed robbery, recovered firearms, ammunition and others at outskirt of Enugu metropolis.
This is contained in a statement in Enugu on Monday by the command’s Spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe.
Ndukwe stated that police operatives of the command serving at the 9th Mile Division in the outskirt of Enugu metropolis detained two male suspected armed robbers.
“The operatives, on Feb. 6, 2025, acted on credible intelligence and detained the suspects, recovering a daylong motorcycle they had snatched from their victim and three locally fabricated guns with two live cartridges.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that on Jan. 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area.
“Along the way, they stopped, shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with the motorcycle.
“The police operatives while leveraging intelligence located and detained the suspects, recovering the stolen motorcycle, firearms and the ammunition.”
According to command spokesman, the victim is currently recuperating from the gunshot injury.
“Further investigative actions are ongoing to detain the suspects’ accomplices who are still at large, and upon conclusion of investigations, they will be arraigned in court.’’
Ndukwe said that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Kanayo Uzuegbu, had urged residents to continue to be law-abiding, vigilant and support the police by providing credible and actionable information.
“The commissioner emphasises that the support will immensely aid the police to sustain the tempo on combating and ridding Enugu State of unrepentant criminals and their activities,” he added. (NAN)
