The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a strong warning to the general public against fake recruitment advertisements which according to the Service, is being circulated by fraudsters and mischief makers.
In a statement signed by the Service?s Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, and posted on the Service?s official X (formerly Twitter) handle (@nigimmigration), the Service warns the general public to be vigilant and alert to the fraudulent activities of dubious persons whose stock in trade is deception and fraud.
The full statement reads:
?The attention of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service KN NANDAP, pcc, mmis, fsmn, has been drawn to the alarming increase in fake recruitment activities being perpetrated by fraudsters. The Service wishes to state that no recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.
?The Nigeria Immigration Service maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free and merit-based manner. Vacancies are advertised through the NIS website, official government channels and recognized national newspapers.
?The NIS is working closely with relevant authorities to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities and bring them to justice. The Service remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in all its operations.
?Consequently, the Comptroller General urges the general public to remain vigilant and refrain from patronizing fraudulent recruitment schemes.
