Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor in charge of Financial System Stability, Dr. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, will tomorrow, August 15, lecture international scholars in the United States of America on the theme “Africa as the Last Frontier: Why It Matters in the Global Economy”.
Moghalu is the Keynote Speaker at an event of same theme being hosted by the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars, a preeminent United States think tank in Washington D.C. Steve McDonald, Director, Africa Programme and Project on Leadership and Building State Capacity at the Woodrow Wilson Centre, will be the co-speaker.
“In the wake of President Obama’s visit to Africa, many have taken note of an increased emphasis on the continent’s role in the global economy. Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and author of Emerging Africa: How the Global Economy’s ‘Last Frontier’ Can Prosper and Matter, Kingsley Moghalu, will share his experiences and thoughts on how the region, which had previously been largely ignored, can become a key player in international economic affairs,” the Woodrow Wilson Centre said in a statement issued on its website. It disclosed that the event would be webcast around the world.
The Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars is the official memorial to Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States and a former President of Princeton University.
