The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has shifted the commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration from January 31 to February 3, 2025.
JAMB also threatened to sanction Computer-Based Test centres that employ fraudulent tactics to gain approval for the examination.
The examination body stated this in a statement signed by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Friday.
He said the shift was necessary to allow the Board to make essential updates to its registration templates.
?These adjustments come in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the Board by the Council for Legal Education,? he said.
?Additionally, the Board discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive facilities to be approved, prompting the need for further scrutiny and corrections by disapproving such centres.
?The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience.
?The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process.?
The Mock UTME is scheduled for April 5, 2025, while the main exam will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025. (The Guardian)
