The district head of Wari, Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government in Kebbi State, Hon Mohammed D. Sani, has commended the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasiru Idris, for renovating a dilapidated Government Girls Comprehensive Science Secondary School, Maga.

He stated this in an interview with newsmen at the flag-off of the construction of the 87-kilometre Federal Dabai-Mahuta-Koko road project by Governor Nasir Idris at Dabai, Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

The district head, a former Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government Council, said the school had been abandoned at that dilapidated state for over 19 years.

He said: ?The school has been abandoned without repairs by successive governors until now that this incumbent governor, Dr Nasiru Idris, included it among the ongoing renovation and upgrade of numerous schools across the state.?

He said the implementing of the N18,000, N30,000, and N70,000 minimum wages for teachers and for ensuring that no teacher is owed salaries or emoluments has further proven the governors' commitment to improving education in the state.

"The increase in retirement age of teachers to 65 years or 40 years of service by governor is a policy that distinguishes Kebbi State from others

"The complete rehabilitation of Dabai-Mahuta-Koko road and other infrastructural projects in Birnin Kebbi are testaments to his excellent leadership," he stated.

While commending the governor on his efforts in bringing sustainable security in the area, the district head said he had directed village and ward heads to mobilise their people to support security agencies and expose bad elements in their midst.
