Nigeria Customs Service building, Abuja
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise, noting that the process is free and fair.
Customs cautioned Nigerians to beware of scammers who may exploit unsuspecting victims during the process.
The NCS invites applications for various positions within the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.
This follows the Service?s recent approval to recruit 3,927 officers in 2025, a move aimed at strengthening trade facilitation and bolstering Nigeria?s economic recovery efforts.
The NCS stressed the need for applicants to be cautious of fraudulent activities during the recruitment process.
?Our recruitment is entirely free and fair. At no stage do we charge fees. Anyone requesting payment is a scammer,? the agency warned.
Listing the eligibility criteria, the NCS said applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth; possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN); and have no criminal record or ongoing investigations.
It added that applicants academic qualifications vary across the three cadres?Superintendent Cadre: University degree or Higher National Diploma (HND), alongside an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate; Inspectorate Cadre: National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an accredited institution; and Customs Assistant Cadre: At least an O?Level certificate (WAEC or NECO).
The service said, ?Additionally, all applicants must be physically and mentally fit, with evidence of medical fitness from a recognised government hospital.
?The application process opens on 27 December 2024 and closes on 2 January 2025.
