The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of four distinguished members of Community Development Association (CDA) across the Remo, Ijebu, Yewa and Egba divisions of the state as members of the Governing Board, Ogun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun, while presenting the letters of appointment on behalf of the Governor to the appointees in Abeokuta said, the approval was ?in a bid to ensure effective and efficient management of the State security network?, charging them to deepen the operation of the Amotekun Corps and collaborate with other security agencies to rid the state of all criminal elements.
The new appointees, Mr. Adekunle Waheed representing Egba Division, Hon. Olusegun Taiwo, Remo Division; Alh. Aminu Taofeek, Yewa and Hon. Adewale Kuojo, Ijebu Divisions, were enjoined to see the appointment as a call to service, as the importance of security in the state cannot be over-emphasised, hence they should use all within their means and divisions, to curb all forms criminalities for a safer Ogun State.
The Commissioner, according to Mrs. Yemisi Fashola, Press Officer, MCDC, admonished them not to be biased in the recruitment of officers, urging them to remain steadfast and be more dedicated to the protection of lives and property of residents in their various communities and the State at large.
According to him, the appointment, which took effect from Monday, December 2, 2024 is aimed at strengthening the security network and improving the working relationship between government and security agencies in the state.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, Mr. Adekunle Waheed, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun on the appointment with a promise to work with other security agencies to make the state a safer place.
