The GreatStory International Foundation, which is known globally for carrying out medical outreaches to people, has offered free medical treatments to residents of Obosi.
The week-long treatment exercise, which was facilitated by Barr. Emeka Uyamadu (Ononenyi), took place at the Chidoka Computer and Event Centre and Primary Healthcare Post, Afor-adike Obosi.
The Obosi Development Union (ODU) Committee on Health and Longevity partnered with the GreatStory International and created convivial atmosphere and salutary environment for the health missionaries to treat ailing Obosi residents.
Professor Nnamdi Benson Onyire, who is the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Clinical Medicine, College of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ebonyi State, said that the ODU Committee on Health and Longevity scrutinized the credentials and practising licences of the medical personnel of the GreatStory International to ensure that they’re in line with statutory recommendations and requirements.
In his own remarks concerning the GreatStory International, the President General of the Obosi Development Union (ODU), Barr. Chimezie Obi, said this: “The Health Mission is certainly part of the mandate of ODU Health and Longevity Committee to ensure that Obosi people have good health conditions and live to good old age.”
He said that members of the ODU Health and Longevity Committee vouchsafed pieces ofinformation to the health missionaries and assisted them in diverse areas, which guaranteed the success of the medical outreach programme.
A great number of Obosi residents, who have debilitating health conditions, visited the treatment centres for medical diagnoses and therapies for their illnesses.
Wore so, those in dire need of surgeries came under the knife for free surgeries that would have cost them millions of naira had they gone to hospitals for the surgeries.
And Prof. Nnamdi Onyire, a professor of medicine, who doubles as the Chairman of ODU Committee on Health and Longevity, said that the medical treatments received by the patients were efficacious and of high quality, while praising the surgeons for doing their jobs expertly and dedicatedly.
He further stated that Obosi is long overdue to have a General Hospital given its populous nature and large landmass, positing that the Primary Healthcare Centre at Afor-adike, Obosi is commodious enough to contain a General Hospital.
And the beneficiaries of the free medical treatment programme were effusive in their expressions of appreciation to the medical personnel of GreatStory International; the ODU President General, Barr. Chimezie Obi; and the Chairman of the ODU Committee on Health and Longevity, Prof. Nnamdi Onyire.
