The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series.
The announcement was made via a short tweet on X on Friday. WAEC stated that prospective candidates can now obtain registration pins at WAEC offices, banks, registration centres, or through authorised agents for a fee of ?27,000.
“Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025-First Series has commenced. Candidates can purchase the registration pins at any WAEC office, banks, registration centres, or accredited agents for 27,000 only,” the tweet read.
To complete their registration, candidates must log on to the official WAEC registration portal at [ http://waeconline.org.ng ].
The WASSCE for Private Candidates, often referred to as the General Certificate Examination (GCE) or WAEC GCE, is a private examination.
Uniforms are not required, but biometric registration is mandatory as in previous editions. (The Guardian)
