The Bayelsa State High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Tuesday fixed December 18, 2024 to hear a suit filed by a beneficiary of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Citron Ebimene.
The suit was filed against an ex-militant leader, Richard Ama Ebiye, over alleged collusion with the management of the United Bank of Africa, (UBA) Yenagoa branch to block his account and deny him payment of his amnesty stipends.
Also joined in the suit is the Management of UBA over the decision to allegedly collude with an individual to freeze and stop the Presidential Amnesty Programme beneficiary?s account denying him access to his stipend due to claims of illegal deduction arrangement between him and the former militant leader.

The plaintiff noted that the act was in violation of his fundamental human rights and violating the Presidential Order granting Amnesty to former Freedom fighters in the region.
