The Coalition of Southern Groups (CSG) has congratulated Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala over her reelection as the Director General (DG) of World Trade Organization (WTO).

According to a statement by its General Secretary, Comrade Bello Osaretin Elmikado, Okonjo-Iweala?s victory was well deserved and signalled a significant and important role for Nigeria at the world stage.

?The Coalition of Southern Groups (CSG) congratulates Dr Ngozi Okojo Iweala over her reelection victory, to retain, remain and continue to serve as the Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO), this was a victory well deserved.

?Her reelection signal a significant and important role Nigeria has now began to play at the world stage,? the statement read.

Describing the WTO DG as a symbol of resilience and pride of the Nigerian people, the coalition expressed confidence that she would advance human capacity development and inspire the younger generations, especially in the southern part of Nigeria, to hard work.

The statement continues: ?The greater adventure of her exploit is to improve mankind and advance human capacity development.

?Today, we are glad to associate with the honor that comes with her commitment to hard work, that will indeed inspire the younger generations, especially, the good people of the southern region of Nigeria.

?On that note, the leadership of Coalition of Southern Groups is very, very proud of the achievement of this noble woman in whom we are well pleased, for showcasing the resilience and pride of the Nigerian people.?

Recalling Okonjo-Iweala?s appointment as the Finance Minister by former president Olusegun Obasanjo, CSG noted that ?she was able to reposition the Nigerian economy and proved her capacity as a global competitor and asset not only in Nigeria but Africa at large.?

?When she was first appointed the finance minister by Obasanjo?s government and reappointed by Jonathan?s regime, she was able to reposition the Nigerian economy and proved her capacity as a global competitor and asset not only in Nigeria but Africa at large.

?Her economic policy thrust for the country as a coordinating minister was people?s oriented, pro-development and growth. She has once again repeated that glorious feat, kudos!

?On the strength of the above, we salute and congratulate Dr Ngozi Okojo Iwela, for the great height attained at the world stage.
