The Nigeria Police Force has alerted residents of the Federal Capital Territory about a crisis response simulation exercise scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

The drill, organised In collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, will take place around Idu Train Station between 9am and 2pm

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday, the exercise is part of the Federal Government?s efforts to enhance the preparedness of security forces in addressing security threats across the country.

?In furtherance of efforts in combating all forms of crimes and criminality in Nigeria, the Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to prepare security forces to respond appropriately and adequately to security threats in Nigeria.

?In this regard, the Office of the National Security Adviser in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, wishes to notify residents of the Federal Capital Territory and its environs that there will be a simulation exercise on crisis response around Idu Train Station on Thursday, 28thNovember 2024, from 9am to 2pm,? the statement read.

Residents are advised not to panic during the exercise, which will feature heavy sounds of explosives in a ?controlled environment.?

The police assured the public that the simulation poses no danger and is designed to test emergency response capabilities. (The PUNCH)
