The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for Thursday, June 9, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: We anticipate an overnight weather system over the North which would leave the morning hour cloudy. Thunderstorms are expected over Sokoto, Zaria, Gusau, Katsina, Kano and Yelwa axis. Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected for the rest of the day. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 32-38oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Thunderstorms are expected to affect Abuja, Makurdi, Lafia, Lokoja, Jos, Minna, Lokoja, Bida and the Mambilla Plateau in the morning hours. Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are projected for the region with chances of afternoon/evening localised thunderstorms in the High ground areas. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 26-35oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: There are prospects of morning rainfall over Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Eket, Asaba, Calabar, Owerri Yenagoa and Uyo. Localised thunderstorms are expected over the rest of the region later in the afternoon/evening period. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 29-25oC.
