Facebook and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has teamed up with music star T-Pain to release a cover of “Get Low” by rap group Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz.

Zuckerberg, who recorded the track under the band name Z-Pain, said it was a tribute to his wife, Priscilla Chan, in honour of their dating anniversary.

“‘Get Low’ was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” the 40-year-old wrote on Instagram. “This year I worked with T-Pain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”

Zuckerberg announced that the track is available on Spotify, signing off the post with “Love you P,” referencing his wife.

The post included a photo of the lyrics, an album cover featuring T-Pain and Zuckerberg holding acoustic guitars, and several images of the pair in a recording studio.

The entrepreneur shared Chan’s reaction to the song on his Instagram story, where she laughed and described it as “so romantic.”

“21 years later, I can’t get quite as low, but it brings back a lot of fun memories,” she said.

Meanwhile, T-Pain responded to criticism over his collaboration with Zuckerberg. Hours after releasing the song as the duo “Z-Pain,” T-Pain, who was recently honoured with a street named after him and a key to his hometown, addressed critics in a series of videos.

“It is impossible for some people to have fun,” T-Pain said. “I’ve learned how to not worry about what y’all are talking about.”

In a second video, T-Pain asked, “Why y’all hate happiness so much?” confirming he was referring to his song with Zuckerberg.
