RCCG GO, Pastor EA Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has shared the story of how the church acquired 500 hectares of land in Ede, Osun State.
Adeboye made this known in the Open Heaven daily devotional of November 6th, 2024, with the titled “Harden Not Your Heart,” Adeboye encouraged Christians to listen to God’s guidance through Bible study.
“You need to hear God so that He can guide you. The primary way to hear from God and be guided by Him is to study your Bible,” Adeboye stated.
He explained that while Scripture often provides clear direction, there are times believers must also seek specific instructions for particular situations.
“There are times when you can clearly see what God wants you to do in the Scriptures. However, you still need to hear from Him on how to go about what He wants you to do,”
He added, citing the Apostle Paul as an example of someone who changed his plans based on divine guidance.
Recalling a personal experience, Adeboye shared, “Some years ago, I wanted to hold a crusade in Benin, and we had prepared everything.
But to my surprise, when I went to ask God about it, He said we should go to Ede, a town in Southwest Nigeria, instead.”
Initially hesitant, Adeboye argued that the town of Ilesha, where a recent crusade had been held, was close to Ede and likely attended by its residents. “However, since God is my Commander-in-chief, I obeyed Him,” he said.
“During the crusade in Ede, the king was in attendance. When he got on stage, he announced that he would be gifting the church with whatever quantity of land we desired,” Adeboye recounted.
Initially, the church requested 50 acres, but after seeking further guidance, Adeboye asked for 500 hectares, as directed by God.
“Today, that portion of land is where Redeemer’s University and The Redeemed Christian School of Missions are situated,” he noted. (Nigerian Tribune)
