Kogi State: Accidental Governor’s exit imminent, By Usman Okai Austin

Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello Adoza’s search for commissioners ended in vain. Therefore, he converted advisers to commissioners. The signs are clear, the message is so loud, and the handwriting on the wall is readable: Bello’s exit is imminent. This is made evident by the obvious rejection to be named commissioners in the state, by men of prowess, wherewithal, and mental acumen. They simply rejected what some may call the golden opportunity of serving their own state government in the capacity as commissioners. So many people rejected the offer as the governor was left with no option other than to convert his advisers to commissioners. Among those that turned down the offer was Dr Mahmoud Alfa, who rejected the nomination as a result of public opinion, considering the illegality and abnormality that surrounded the emergence of Bello. Many believe that serving in his administration will be a waste of time, aligning with a government that is not only on its way out but lacks vision; besides its unbecoming style of governance characterised by impunity, arrogance, and massive corruption.

This development is strange and Bello’s camp is unsettled. However, the impunity continues with the assistance of Federal Might supporting the illegality in Kogi State. Police Have Been Chased Away From The House Of Assembly While Soldiers Protect The Five Members To Confirm The Names Of Commissioners. This is a clear abuse of power and use of impunity against the will of the people.

The troubled government in Lugard House has divided the State Assembly and the people’s will is being subjugated, as the cartel now runs a few men show as government. The State Assembly is now in comatose. This height of atrocity is made possible with the support of some gullible characters who do not mean well for Kogi State.
