Air Peace Ltd. on Monday said its 12.50 p.m. flight from Benin to Abuja made a return to Benin as a result of a technical snag the aircraft encountered shortly after takeoff.
The airline said this in a notice signed by its Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Ejike Ndiulo, in Lagos.
According to the airline, the return to base was a necessary safety measure.
It added that the aircraft landed in Benin and passengers disembarked normally.
He said: “Our maintenance team are currently troubleshooting the cause of the snag.
“We are deploying replacement aircraft to Benin for us to minimise the disruptions and ensure passengers continue their journeys as soon as possible.
“We appeal for understanding of the passengers affected and others whose flights will be delayed as a result of this unforeseen development.”
Air Peace said it remained committed to upholding safety standards. (NAN)
