The Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has announced that a High-Level Peace and Reconciliation Committee led by Chief Obong Victor Attah, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has been established to address ongoing tensions between Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as well as other conflicts in the Niger Delta.

The committee, formed during PANDEF’s recent Special General Assembly in Port Harcourt, includes prominent leaders such as Senator Emmanuel Ibok-Essien and Senator Stella Omu. PANDEF’s spokesperson, Dr. Obiuwevbi Ominimini, confirmed that the committee will work to resolve regional issues and restore peace.

The group called on all levels of government and local organizations to support PANDEF’s efforts, pledging that this initiative will comprehensively address the sources of tension across the South-South geopolitical zone. (Vanguard)
