Dear compatriots, I am writing this open letter, while taking into consideration the critical time we are in, and not forgetting the fact that the entity Nigeria is now over 100 years old. There is no doubt that the economic, political and even religious situations have made a good number of citizens to become despondent.
Hence, this feeling of hopelessness and frustration is beclouding the reasoning of many Nigerians. This is making many to consider migrating to foreign counties to seek greener pastures, while those who cannot leave are counting themselves most miserable.
Many are asking God a very rhetorical question: God, why did you create me a Nigerian? The answer is that God knew you are capable of making a difference in your society.
Then think, if you leave, who would fill the vacuum? It is true that many of our leaders have not helped matters. Their backward thinking and self-centred approach to governance make it look as if, 64 years after Independence, the country is unable to take its rightful place in the comity of nations. Boko Haram insurgency and other terrorist groups have worsened security challenges in the country. Kidnappings, armed robbery and various criminalities have become the order of the day.
Some clerics have turned religious centres to business enterprises. They no longer tell politicians the truth. Is there any hope in all these abnormalities? The answer is yes.
I believe in the entity called Nigeria. We are more blessed than many other nations of the earth. The Americans or the Europeans would have chosen this land if God gave them the privilege. Let’s cherish what we have, as I had a vision at the age of 19 that Nigeria would produce a true Youthocrat or Visionocrat personality that shall be elected as a president that would implement progressive ideologies for the betterment of Nigerians and would put an end to corruption, frustration and despair.
Such a person would not use only crude oil proceeds but tourism, other natural resources, energy, agriculture and education as major income generators. I have a vision that Nigeria will become the mother of all nations.
Fellow country men and women, be part of this forthcoming historical change by standing up and let’s fix Nigeria by promoting made-in Nigeria products, our culture, respect our national flag, value our fatherland with sincerity of dexterity to make it an abode for all nations, exercise our franchise, promote our respective heritage with dignity, unity and ensure equality.
In truth, let us fight human rights abuses and corruption with a patriotic spirit. May God bless our country and its inhabitants.
