This year’s trade test for artisans in Lagos will hold between Oct. 15 and Oct. 17, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
A statement issued by Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Adebayo Orunsolu, on Thursday in Lagos said that no fewer than 350 duly registered artisans would participate in the exercise.
It noted that the theoretical aspect of the test would be conducted in two different centres: Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe and Government Junior College, Agege.
The statement explained that affected artisans in Epe, Ikorodu and Ibeju Lekki Local Government Areas would sit for the theoretical aspect of the test at Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe.
It further stated that those in Agege, Ifako Ijaiye, Alimosho, Amuwo-Odofin and Ikeja Local Government Areas would do their own test at Government Junior College, Agege on Oct. 15.
According to the statement, the practical aspect of the exercise will be conducted on Oct. 17 at all the designated centres across the state.
It listed the centres to include Lagos State Examinations Board, Agege; Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Falomo Jetty, Ikoyi and Government Technical College, Ikotun Skills Acquisition Centre, Egbeda.
Others are: Grano Institute at Orimolade, Haruna, Ifako Ijaiye; De Food Institute, Seliat Bus Stop, Abule Odu, Idimu and Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe.
“The candidates’ participation in the two aspects will determine their overall performance in the examination.
“The essence of the trade test for artisans in the state is to make their certificates more meaningful to their professions and also add value to the test,” the statement said. (NAN)
