Former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Prince Bola Ajibola, has been inaugurated as the new Chairman of the Senior Citizens Care Foundation (SCCF) in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, Ajibola, a one-time Nigeria Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, said that the lowest common multiple of his personality was service and that he would try his best to champion the cause of of the elderly in Nigeria.
In her speech at the occasion, Nigeria’s first female Professor, Mrs. Adetowun Ogunsheye, advised the Federal Government to implement the policy that protects the right and care of the country’s senior citizens.
Prof. Ogunsheye added that when ever there are crisis in the country every body ask that where are the elders, but this same set of elders that much is been expected of had been so neglected constitutionally.
The investiture was witnessed by notable Nigerians including, former Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VOA), Aare Taiwo Allimi; Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu, Olowu of Owu Kingdom; Chief Executive Officer of SCCF, Mr. Jide Taiwo; and a director, Mr. Tony Awe.
Other directors but who were not at the ceremony are Ambassador Segun Apata, Dr. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu, Dr. Amos Akingba and Executive Adviser, Barr. Gbolahan Gbadamosi.
