Wife of the governorship candidate of the PDP in Edo, Mrs Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, on Tuesday staged on a roadshow in Benin as final push to woo votes for her husband, Asue Ighodalo.
The roadshow, which kicked off from the National Museum ground at Ring Road in Benin, saw women in their large numbers joining the show.
The set up consisted women from the Arewa community as well as others from Oredo, Ikpoba Okha and Egor local government areas.
The roadshow, which was carnival-like, featured the wife dancing to the admiration of the party supporters.
Mrs Ighodalo urged the electorate to come out enmass to vote for her husband.
The roadshow drew the attention of traders at the Oba Market and other passers-by, creating an atmosphere of funfair for the people.
Expressing her joy about the roadshow and for the candidacy of Asue Ighodalo, Mrs. Philomena Osaro from Oredo Ward 3, said Ighodalo was the only candidate with the capacity to govern the state.
“Come September 21, Mr Asue Ighodalo is going to be voted for by the people and he is going to win this election.
“Everybody is going to come out to vote for him because he has the capacity.
“He is a man with compassion for his people and he is very accessable. He is the man that is qualified to occupy the Asadebe Avenue,” Osaro said .
Speaking with newsmen after the roadshow, Mrs Ighodalo said she was confident of victory for her spouse because she had all it took to serve the state.
She said she staged the roadshow to carry women along and to show that if he win, his husband would create a space for women in his government. (NAN)
