To meet a growing demand for its Executive MBA programme based on the Action Learning pedagogy, Business School Netherlands (BSN) is to open more study centres in Jos and Port Harcourt, global President of BSN Mrs. Juanita Bouwer disclosed Friday as she rounded up a visit to Nigeria.
Over 600 candidates are enrolled for the Executive MBA and function-specific short courses with Business School Netherlands in Nigeria.
Mrs. Bouwer was in Nigeria as part of activities marking the Silver Jubilee of the top business school with presence in 15 countries around the world. “My visit is also in particular to welcome the 42 new graduates of our Executive MBA programme from Nigeria personally. The present class brings to over 200 the number of graduates of our MBA programme from Nigeria and it is a significant landmark and achievement. I shared with them their joy and expectations for the future as they proudly proclaim their membership of the worldwide growing body of alumni of Business School Netherlands,” she stated
Mrs. Bouwer said BSN is interested in growing its activities in Nigeria given warm and enthusiastic response of the Nigerian market to its unique Action Learning pedagogy. “There are now over 47 sets of Nigerian MBA students made up of 20 sets in Otta, 17 sets in Abuja and 10 sets in Ikeja. We are planning to start a new set in Port Harcourt and Jos this year,” she disclosed.
According to Bouwer, over 2,300 candidates have graduated from BSN with MBA degrees worldwide.
The global President said that Nigeria is a “strong centre” of the 15 centres of BSN. “We are looking at greater collaboration with Nigeria in solving Africa’s economic and leadership challenges using our unique Action Learning approach in preparing future generations for a better life,” she said. “We expect that the managers and specialists who train using our Action Learning methodology would apply their practical learning to solving problems in their various workplaces and accelerating productivity. Higher productivity of all resources is critical for enhancing development in Nigeria. As several authorities have noted, when we get development right in Nigeria, we have gotten it right in Africa. “
Business School Netherlands was recently ranked in the Top 5 among business schools in Netherland. Business School Netherlands commenced offering tuition in Nigeria in 2003, operating from the African Leadership Centre Otta, Ogun State, before moving to its own premises in Ikeja GRA, Lagos. It also has study centre in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
BSN offers the Executive MBA programme and now requires that students must spend some time in Netherlands to inculcate the culture and values of the school in its home setting before graduation.
