It will be a thundery Saturday but also expect cloudy conditions in the southern states: NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Saturday, May 21, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: There are chances of isolated thunderstorm activities over Maiduguri, Potiskum, Yola, Nguru, Damaturu and Yelwa axis in the morning, while afternoon/evening rainfall are likely over Sokoto, Gusau, Kano, Katsina, and Zaria. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 33 - 40oC.

CENTRAL STATES: We expect isolated thunderstorm activities around Minna, Bida and parts of Abuja in the morning hours, while thunderstorm activities will also affect the eastern part of the central cities later in the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures forecast are likely to be in the range of 27 - 34oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: We expect cloudy conditions over the entire region in the morning with greater prospects of afternoon/evening isolated thunderstorms here and there. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 32 - 33oC.
