
Egyptian armed forces have announced that passengers’ belongings and debris from EgyptAir flight 804 were spotted 180 miles off the coastal city of Alexandria. The plane bound from Paris to Cairo, carrying 66 passengers and crew members, crashed after disappearing from the radar. Meanwhile, the airline today issued a statement disclosing that it has met with families and relatives of the passengers of the crashed plane to update them on the sad incident.
The statement reads: “In recent development on EGYPTAIR Flight No 804, EGYPTAIR Chairman Safwat Musallam, escorted by EGYPTAIR Vice Chairman Cpt. Ahmed Adel and Cpt. Hisham el-Nahas, the Chairman of EGYPTAIR Airlines have met with a number of Egyptian and foreign families and relatives of the passengers and crew of MS804 this morning, at a hotel nearby Cairo Int’l Airport to inform them of the whole situation and circumstances of the incident, as EGYPTAIR officials have provided them with full support and assistance and they were keen to respond to their inquiries.
“Meanwhile, EGYPTAIR Crisis Center is still working on the updates of the search results issued by the concerned authorities. Further updates will be posted on www.egyptair.com and in our social media channels as more information becomes available.”
