The Managing Director/CEO of Fidelity Bank, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, has returned to his position after satisfactorily answering the questions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Okonkwo and some other officials of the bank had been recently invited the anti-graft body to answer question bordering on the alleged lodgement of $115 million (N23 billion) by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, for use to prosecute the failed re-election bid of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Fidelity Bank insists that it did nothing wrong but only carried out normal banking transactions for a customer.
Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Balarabe, who acted in Okonkwo’s absence, has now been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director subject to regulatory approval.
