NiMET predicts cloudy Sunday, thunderstorms

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, May 15, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy condition is expected over some places around Sokoto, Kano, Gusau and Katsina in the morning. Partly cloudy situation is expected later in the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 38- 41oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Localised thunderstorm is anticipated in the morning over places around Lafia, Jalingo, Makurdi and parts of Abuja. While there are also chances of isolated thunderstorm over the high grounds of central states including Abuja, Minna, Bida and Kaduna in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 36oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected over the southern cities with chances of rains around Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket in the morning. Thunderstorm is anticipated later in the day over some places like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Enugu, Awka, Akure and Oshogbo. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 32-35oC.
